| Glowfoto Organizer |

Ok, the first version of the organizer is ready. I'll be staying in on this Friday night to do the final testing so that I can make it available to everyone by the end of the night.
Here's what it looks like:
What does it do? Well it allows you to upload large numbers of photos to your albums by dragging and dropping. That's basically what the old drag and drop uploaded does, but now with this new system we are able to add more features in as time goes on. For example, we'll let you tag, caption and geotag your photos from inside the app. We also plan to make the organizer into a communicator (kind of like an IM), and send alerts to your desktop when you get new photo comments, guestbook entries, or friend updates. Cool, huh?

Just wanted to let everyone know the Glowfoto desktop app is coming along.
Basically this is going to replace the Glowfoto drag & drop uploader that most of you are using now. It will basically be the same, except you'll also be able to create and manage albums, geotag your photos, caption photos, and organize your photos really, really quickly. This is basically what I wanted the D&D uploader to be a couple years ago.
The first version will just be an updated D&D uploader, but the version after that will allow you to easily move and delete photos. And then we'll keep adding features from there.
First version... by the end of the week, hopefully?

Something going on at our ISP, and its causing Glowfoto to kind of drop out for a couple minutes at a time.
Hang in there, these things usually dont last long :)

| Organizer 2.0 |

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I'll be starting work on a new Glowfoto Organizer tomorrow. The one we have now was great... 2 years ago. Now I just want it to be better.
The new system will basically combine the organizer, captioner, uploader and geotagger into one system. My idea is to basically make it work almost as if you were working in Windows. So your albums will be "folders" and your photos will be "files". If I do this right, large-scale operations like moving or deleting huge numbers of files will be much, much easier.
We will have a beta version for people to play with very soon. It'll take me a good couple days to get a working version going.

Vangelis gave me another great one. I'm working on it! But the list is pretty thin, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me have them.
Also, the big wall o photos some people asked for is on it's way.

I told you guys, reliability matters! Glowfoto is here to stay. Photo sites come and go all the time. We've been here for 5 years now.

Glowfoto now works with piclens. If you don't have piclens, I seriously recommend you get it, because Glowfoto is a WHOLE lot cooler with piclens.

Hey guys! Ok I was thinking today that I'd really like to get Glowfoto away from this ad nonsense. I hate the ads all around this site, and they barely cover the costs of running Glowfoto, so I came up with part of an idea.
What we're going to do is have a points system. Basically, every upgraded account will get a certain number of points every time their account is renewed -- so say, 5 points each month. People will also be able to buy more points at any time.
We've got a few ideas of how people could spend them, but I'd really like to know what you guys would want. What sort of features would you like to see that require points in order to use? We're thinking along the lines of Facebook's gifts, which are basically just little comments you can leave on someone's profile for a buck.
Any ideas? Please send them to me via mail, as the blog comment system is a little broken... someone better fix that soon!
